报告人介绍:
Eslam received his PhD from Benha University in 2007 and has been a Professor in the Physics Department at the same institution since May 22, 2017. His overarching research goal is to address climate change by developing next-generation magnesium-ion batteries that are cost-effective, high-capacity, and safer than current lithium-ion batteries. This research is directly aligned with the electrification of transportation, the promotion of electric vehicles, and the implementation of zero-carbon policies. The research focuses on understanding the mechanisms behind ion transport and applying this knowledge to develop advanced solid electrolytes and functional nano- and micro-scale materials for next-generation batteries. These efforts are aimed at enhancing large-scale energy storage for the grid. Eslam seeks to create a new class of magnesium cells using non-traditional materials, demonstrating record power densities. His recent and upcoming work on electrolytes and cathodes for magnesium batteries will open new pathways to meet growing energy demands. His characterization techniques include A.C. impedance spectroscopy, X-ray analysis, electrochemical testing, and thermal analysis. Eslam is the author or co-author of more than 75 peer-reviewed journal articles and one book chapter.
